Description
Thirty six years is a long time for a band to survive in today's cutthroat music jungle. The secret? Richard and Fred Young, along with cousins Anthony Kenney, Greg Martin and long time friend Doug Phelps, never set out to play music for a living. They were born to be together and they live to play music. Some of the Kentucky Headhunters albums have sold millions, others in the thousands. However, one thing remains the same....they are one of a kind, originals. The music on "Flying Under The Radar" reflects the broad musical landscape the Heads have developed over the years. Here's one from a band that still knows how to keep it...Flying Under The Radar!!

These guys have been around a long time and with a few exceptions (Soul, anyone?), have been consistently turning out top class rock music with a southern flavour. Somehow I had overlooked this album, but I'm very glad that I've now got my hands on it.I don't normally buy music for the lyrics (otherwise why would I listen to most of Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky et al?), just for great music, and my policy is clearly vindicated here. Of course the lyrics may be astounding, but I don't really care. This is exactly what the Headhunters are about, in my opinion: good, hard, melodic rock with a few twists thrown in. If that's your fancy, then buy this, you'll not be disappointed. And while you're at it, give some of their other stuff a try too.If it isn't, then you can always wait for the next Backstreet Boys album.
