I find it hard to believe that a serious Black Metal fan could give this anything less than 4 stars.I seen a review whining about the sound, any Black Metal fan knows that the sound is intentional and it isn't like this is the only BM CD that sounds like it does. Now on to the individual performances, this is the best lineup Gorgoroth ever had in my opinion. Everyone performs to their best ability. Pest shows just how powerful and diverse of a vocalist he is, he has some truly evil snarls and screams and an operatic sounding clean voice.Grim may not have been around long, but nobody can deny how great of a drummer he was. He opens the open with his pounding and furious double bass on "Revelation Of Doom" his drumming is very intense and merciless on the ears. I mean that in a good way too. Then there's the mastermind behind the whole band, Infernus. Yet again he is playing both Bass and Electric guitar and he exceeds on both. His riffs are hauntingly evil but very pleasing to hear at the same time and he wrote all the music here so it's no surprise it's as good as it is.To be honest, his bass is nothing special here. It isn't bad but when you actually do hear it it's usually just following the guitar. This is one hell of a CD (No pun intended) and I rank it up there as one of the greatest Metal albums you can purchase along with "Pentagram"
